Mrs. Walsh's kindergarten class participated in a Skype with a class in Nebraska. The classes read a book together about maps, which is a topic the students are currently learning in Social Studies. Mrs. Cunningham read the book aloud to the two classes, and students did a great job identifying landforms.
After the book the students shared some facts that were the same and different about their states. No surprise, art, music, and PE were favorite parts of the school week for both classes. The class in Nebraska is actually on an Air Force base, so they see lots of planes flying!
Because the states have different landforms Mrs. Crilley did an activity afterwards helping the students find mountains and rivers on Google Earth.
